by Bryan Painter Published: August 24, 2013

On Saturday, the Oklahoma Mesonet weather network station at Grandfield in southwest Oklahoma recorded triple digit temperatures.

That marks 34 days this year with triple digit temperatures this year at that Mesonet station. In contrast, there are four Oklahoma Mesonet weather stations in Oklahoma County, three have had one day of triple digits and the Oklahoma City West station has not registered temperatures at or above 100 degrees in 2013.

In 2011, Grandfield had triple-digit tempetures on 101 days. That community’s first triple-digit high temperature in 2011 was 101 degrees on April 18. The last 100-degree day at Grandfield in 2011 was Sept. 13, when they reached 108 degrees.
