Grant to help Oklahoma workers displaced from bases

The U.S. Labor Department will use a $3.2 million grant to provide job training and placement services to about 550 Oklahoma civilian defense workers who were displaced by the 2005 Base Realignment and Closure actions.

Labor Secretary Elaine L. Chao said the grant funds would provide job placement assistance, skills training and other re-employment services "to help them get started in new careers.”
