ATHENS, Greece (AP) — Topflight Greek club OFI has signed former Italian football star Gennaro Gattuso as its new coach.

The club based on the island of Crete said in a statement on Thursday it has reached a two-year deal with the 36-year-old former AC Milan and Rangers midfielder.

Gattuso made 73 appearances for Italy, and later coached at Swiss club Sion and Palermo.

OFI finished in sixth place this season in Greece's 18-team league, won by the country's dominant team, Olympiakos.
