— “Sacra Pagina,” a free exhibit featuring the Green Collection of rare biblical texts and artifacts, will be displayed Wednesday through Feb. 2 at Oral Roberts University.

The exhibit is free and open to the public. It will be in the conference banquet center in the south lobby at the Mabee Center, 8023 S Lewis.

In conjunction with the exhibit, Jerry Pattengale, Ph.D., an internationally acclaimed expert on biblical manuscripts and ancient history, will give a free opening day lecture at 11:15 a.m. Wednesday in the west meeting room in the Mabee Center's south lobby area. Tickets must be reserved because space is limited.

“Sacra Pagina,” which means “The Sacred Page,” features more than 50 select items in the Green Collection, the world's largest private collection of rare biblical texts and artifacts. The ever-growing, nonsectarian compilation of more than 40,000 biblical antiquities is named for the Oklahoma City-based family who founded national arts and crafts retailer Hobby Lobby.

These artifacts provide a look at the history of the Bible — a book that has altered history, shaped culture, inspired minds and changed lives.

Hobby Lobby President Steve Green oversees the expansion and outreach of the collection and serves as chairman of the board for an eventual national Bible museum that takes a scholarly approach to the Bible.

The national museum also will house the Green Scholars Initiative, which brings together established and young scholars to pioneer groundbreaking research on items in the collection.
