LAWTON -- A Greer County judge has been assigned to preside over a murder case against three people charged in the death of an elderly Lawton man.

All three Comanche County judges recused themselves in the case because the victim's son-in-law is an attorney who practices in southwest Oklahoma.

Greer County Associate District Judge Danny Deaver will preside over the first-degree murder case against Ricky Gallegos, Jade Burns and Kelsey Campbell.

The three are accused in the April beating death of 81-year-old Johnny Tharp, who prosecutors say was killed during a robbery.

The three are scheduled for trial in February.
