Gresham, Pettigrew up for tight end honor

MANHASSET, N.Y. (AP) - Oklahoma's Jermaine Gresham and Oklahoma State's Brandon Pettigrew are among eight semifinalists for the John Mackey Award, given annually to college football's top tight end.

The six other semifinalists are Missouri's Chase Coffman, South Carolina's Jared Cook, Houston's Mark Hafner, Western Michigan's Branden Ledbetter, BYU's Dennis Pitta and Arkansas' D.J. Williams.

The winner will be announced Dec. 11 at the college football awards show.

The other article was talking about Hunter and Bryant being All-Americans, but there is no reason why Pettigrew could not make it a trio of Cowboys. That would be quite an accomplishment.

Oklahoma is a college football state! Proud of both nominees, but especially of my Cowboys star . . . Brandon Pettigrew! Just like Billy Bajema before him, can't wait to watch him on Sundays.
