Group helps save endangered Oklahoma sites

Ask Susie Koontz what’s so exciting about a decrepit old grain elevator, and she gets a bit agitated.

She photographed four of the historic elevators built in northwest Oklahoma and nominated them for inclusion in Oklahoma’s endangered historic places list.

"Unless someone jumps up and down and works to save these, we will lose that part of our heritage. They are going fast,” Koontz said.
