NORTH SOUND, Antigua (AP) — Carlos Ruiz scored in the first half to give Guatemala a 1-0 win over Antigua and Barbuda in CONCACAF qualifying for the 2014 World Cup.

Ruiz rifled a shot into the back of the net in the 26th minute to give Guatemala the victory and all but eliminate Antigua from contention.

Guatemala now shares the Group A lead on seven points with the United States, which beat Jamaica 1-0 later Tuesday. Jamaica also has seven points, but trails on goal difference.

Antigua is at the bottom of the group with one point from four matches with just two remaining.

The loss was Antigua's second in less than a week to Guatemala after a 3-1 defeat on Friday.
