When: 7 p.m., Friday
Where: Deer Creek High School
Radio: KTOK-AM 1000
Records: Edmond Memorial 1-1; Deer Creek 2-0
Last week: Enid 32, Edmond Memorial 27; Deer Creek 41, Shawnee 21
Players to watch: Edmond Memorial — Ashton Antwine, DB. The lockdown corner has yet to intercept a pass this season, but for good reason with opponents choosing to stay away from him. Deer Creek had a strong passing attack last week and Antwine could hinder that.
Deer Creek — Clay Jarzombek, OL. Jarzombek missed the Antlers’ opener with an ankle injury, but returned last week before reaggravating the injury late in the fourth. Deer Creek coach Grant Gower said Jarzombek is playing this week and the Antlers will need him against a big defensive front.
Storylines: Edmond Memorial — Last week the Bulldogs dug themselves into a big whole they couldn’t climb out of, resulting in an upset loss to Enid. Fall behind early against Deer Creek and it’ll be a long night. Just ask Shawnee.
Deer Creek — The Antlers shocked people last week by how easily they won in Shawnee. A 2-0 start following the loss of so many talented players to graduation is impressive, but can they keep it up against a team featuring one of the state’s top running backs, Warren Wand?
The pick: Deer Creek 28, Edmond Memorial 27
