Guide to Heritage Hall at John Marshall

by Jacob Unruh Modified: October 4, 2013 at 1:05 pm •  Published: October 4, 2013

When: 6 p.m., Friday

Where: Douglass High School

Records: Heritage Hall 1-4, 0-1 District 3A-3, John Marshall 3-1, 1-0

Last week: Kingfisher 35, Heritage Hall 0; John Marshall 26, Star Spencer 20

Players to watch: Heritage Hall — Connor McGinnis, QB. The junior has thrown for 994 yards and seven touchdowns. But like the rest of the Chargers’ offense, he’s been inconsistent with four interceptions.

John Marshall — Devion Smith, WR. New John Marshall coach Rashuan Woods is extremely high on Smith, saying he’s the best receiver he’s coached to this point. Woods should know a good receiver when he sees one. He also had the game-winning TD last week with a 67-yard punt return.

Storylines: Heritage Hall — It’s time to right the ship. The record isn’t pretty, but it’s been a brutal schedule. The Chargers have a chance to start taking control of the second playoff spot in the district.

John Marshall — Keep building. The Bears are off to a great start and have shown a lot of improvement. Heritage Hall will be their toughest opponent to date.

The pick: Heritage Hall 28, John Marshall 20
