by Jacob Unruh Modified: September 6, 2013 at 4:35 pm •  Published: September 6, 2013

When: 7 p.m., Friday

Where: McGuinness High School

Players to watch: Shawnee — John Jacobs, QB. Dual-threat southpaw has a way of making good things happen for the Wolves. He accounted for more than 2,200 yards last season, but he will be dealing with a tough defensive front from the Irish.

McGuinness — Gray Gochenour,LB. Gochenour led the Irish in tackles last season and will be key in slowing down Jacobs. McGuinness feeds off him on defense and a big night will likely result in a win.

Storylines: Shawnee — The Wolves have a veteran team with 18 returning starters. How will they match up with the Irish, a team loaded with veteran talent as well.

McGuinness — Can anyone consistently get past the Irish’s offensive line? “The Million Dollar Line” is all seniors and big protecting dual-threat quarterback Jacob Lewis. If the Wolves can get pressure on him, things could get interesting.

The pick: McGuinness 35, Shawnee 24
