Guide to No. 7 Talihina at No. 10 Cashion

by Jacob Unruh Modified: November 29, 2013 at 1:40 pm •  Published: November 29, 2013

When: 7:30 p.m., Friday

Where: Maxon Field (101 North Euclid in Cashion)

Records: Talihina 12-0 (6-0 District A-6, first); Cashion 10-2 (5-1 District A-3, second)

Last week: Talihina 46, Hominy 26; Cashion 14, Okeene 7

Players to watch: Talihina — Alan Lockhart, QB. The junior finished with 117 all-purpose yards last week, rushing for 177 yards and five touchdowns on just 15 carries.

Cashion — Dylan Kordeiski, RB. The junior running back scored the game-winning touchdown last week and has been instrumental in the Wildcats’ improved rushing attack.

Storylines: Talihina — The Tigers have ran through their schedule the entire season with relative ease, so it’ll be interesting to see how they react if they fail to pull away from Cashion.

Cashion — Wildcats coach Lynn Shackelford expressed some concern about the Tigers’ speed, which he said has improved since the two teams met during the quarterfinals last season. How the young Tigers respond to that will be huge.

The pick: Cashion 35, Talihina 31
