Guide to No. 8 Hartshorne vs. No. 1 Millwood

by Jacob Unruh Modified: December 13, 2013 at 1:05 pm •  Published: December 13, 2013

When: 7 p.m., Friday

Where: East Central University, Ada

Records: Hartshorne 11-2 (5-1 District 2A-6, second); Millwood 13-0 (6-0 District 2A-2, first)

Last week: Hartshorne 32, Oklahoma Christian 25, OT; Millwood 14, Meeker 6

Players to watch: Hartshorne — Dallas Herring, RB. Herring accounted for four touchdown runs in the Miners’ quarterfinal win against defending champion Oklahoma Christian.

Millwood — Cameron Batson, QB. The Texas Tech commitment accounted for both touchdowns during the Falcons’ narrow victory against Meeker in the quarterfinals. He’s been electric all season and will be relied on heavily Friday.

Storylines: Hartshorne — How do the Miners contain Batson? He’s a threat to score at any moment and his athleticism teamed with the rest of the Falcons’ athleticism is overwhelming for some.

Millwood — The Falcons proved against Meeker they can win defensive battles, and that’s been a key during the postseason. If they get a lead early, the Miners may be in trouble.

The pick: Millwood 35, Hartshorne 21
