Guide to No. 9 Edmond Memorial at Southmoore

by Jacob Unruh Modified: October 25, 2013 at 12:05 pm •  Published: October 25, 2013

When: 7 p.m., Friday

Where: Moore Schools Stadium

Radio: KGHM-AM 1340

Records: Edmond Memorial 5-2, 3-1 District 6A-4; Southmoore 4-3, 2-2

Last week: Edmond Memorial 33, Choctaw 3; Southmoore 33, Norman 30

Players to watch: Edmond Memorial — Ashton Antwine, DB. Antwine has three Division I offers so far and has been great this season as a lockdown corner. Teams have rarely tested him, but Southmoore has some playmakers that could be challenging.

Southmoore — Dunya Rice, QB. Rice played quarterback last week after freshman Conner Uselton was out with a concussion, and he excelled. If he plays QB again Friday, he could give the stingy Memorial defense problems. If not, he’s just as dangerous split out or in the backfield.

Storylines: Edmond Memorial — Slow down Southmoore’s playmakers. There are plenty of them to choose from, too. Memorial has been stout defensively so far and will need another strong performance.

Southmoore — Contain Warren Wand. The junior speedster is heating up and that’s bad news for opposing defense. It seems like every week this is the key for Memorial’s opponents, and every week Wand finds a way to produce.

The pick: Edmond Memorial 21, Southmoore 17
