There’s this website called Guns Save Lives that posts news from the firearms world, whether it’s general information about firearms and ammunition, or stories about firearms being used in self-defense.
The latter bit of that is what I’m posting about today: Guns Save Lives has been constantly updating a Google Map with incidents involving a firearm being used in defense of self or property, like home invasions, since 2011.
Each entry is pinned on the map and clicking on the pin brings up a link to details about that incident, including a link back to the news story they gleamed the information from.
According to the map, Oklahoma has seen more than 30 situations since 2011 where guns were used in defense of self and property:

It’s an interesting map to compare to this one put together by Slate and @GunDeaths, which tallies the number of people killed by guns since Dec. 14, 2012. I couldn’t find an embeddable version, so here’s a direct link.
