A Navy honor guard helped family members Monday night welcome home the remains of Steven Farley.

Farley, a Guthrie resident and Naval reservist, died last week when a bomb went off at a municipal building in the Sadr City area of Baghdad.

He was working for the U.S. State Department in Iraq with local officials.

Farley's flag-draped casket arrived just before 9 p.m. Monday at Will Rogers World Airport on a Delta flight.

Passengers on the flight were told by Delta staff that Farley's casket was on board, and some of the passengers stayed in the plane or watched from the terminal as a short ceremony took place.

A large Navy honor guard from Tinker Air Force Base's Strategic Communications Wing One was on hand for the ceremony, some unloading and moving the casket to a waiting hearse.

Family members held each other on the tarmac during the ceremony. They left the airport in three limousines.

An Oklahoma City police cruiser and two motorcycles escorted the hearse and limousines from the airport to Baggerley Funeral Home in Edmond.

Farley's funeral will be at

9 a.m. Wednesday at Henderson Hills Baptist Church in

Edmond.
