Guymon horse races spur 12 arrests

GUYMON — A Texas County illegal horse racing operation was shut down this week and more than 150 people detained and 12 people arrested.

On Sunday 50 law enforcement officers from various state and federal agencies, including federal Immigration and Customs Enforcement, descended on a private racetrack about two miles north of Guymon.

"The racing was going on in broad daylight,” said Jason Bond, a Guymon police officer. "It had been going on for some time.”
