Halloween can be a treat for dogs, too

will be the Campus Corner Merchants Association’s annual Howl-O-Ween, which features a parade of the costumed pets and trick-or-treating at the stores. Yes, the treats are for the dogs. (Bring your own chocolate.)

If you like dressing your dog as something he’s obviously not, then Oct. 25 is the day for you. You can make both events and need only one costume. Or, if you’re really into it, go for it and have two costumes for your animal, one for each event.

You’ll notice I’ve left cats out. It’s not that cats aren’t invited — although I’m not sure they are — but can you imagine trying to wrestle a cat into a canary outfit? I don’t think so. Cats are cats, and dogs are … anything you want them to be.
