Have you ever wondered about why some things are the way they are in Oklahoma? Do you know someone with a unique story or background?

If so, you should join me on Wednesday for a Google+ hangout to discuss stories.

Last week, I collected six story budget lines that were shared with editors. One of them involved an update on the Oklahoma River. You might have noticed a story in Sunday’s paper by Steve Lackmeyer about this topic.

We’re listening and taking notice of the stories you’re interested in. By hosting hangouts, we want you to be apart of the story selection process.

We’ll get started at noon Wednesday, July 3. Bring your lunch and story ideas. You can join the hangout here.

Google only allows 10 people on at a time, so I’ll have to ask people to hop off after pitching their stories if it gets too crowded.

If you’d like to pitch your story in a text format, you can submit it to editors here.

I look forward to hearing what other stories and topics you’re interested in.
