HANNOVER, Germany (AP) — Hannover has signed Latvia striker Artjoms Rudnevs on loan from Bundesliga rival Hamburger SV until the end of the season.
Hannover sporting director Dirk Dufner says the 25-year-old Rudnevs "is a player who has already demonstrated his eye for goal in the Bundesliga."
Rudnevs, who has 12 goals in 41 league games for Hamburg since joining from Polish side Lech Poznan in 2012, was to complete his first training session with his new side on Friday.
Kicker reports on its website that Hannover is paying almost 500,000 euros ($680,000) for the player's loan, and has the option of making the deal permanent for another two million euros ($2.7 million).
Hannover entered the Bundesliga's winter break in 13th place in the 18-team division.
