Hard freeze warning ahead Tuesday night in Oklahoma

A hard freeze warning is in effect for most of Oklahoma. Temperatures will fall Tuesday night.

Temperatures continue to drop in Oklahoma with a blast of Arctic air Tuesday, the National Weather Service reports.

A hard freeze warning is in effect for 8 p.m. Tuesday to 10 a.m. Wednesday across the state, the weather service reports.

Temperatures dropped into the mid-30s in central Oklahoma early Tuesday with wind gusts from the north up to 29 mph. The wind chill was in the low 20s, the weather service reports.

The overnight low will be near 23 degrees in central Oklahoma.

During the day Tuesday, skies will be sunny with a high near 42 degrees and wind gusts from the north up to 24 mph.

The Oklahoma City forecast is as follows:

Tuesday: Sunny with a high near 42. North wind 8 to 17 mph with gusts as high as 24 mph.

Tuesday night: Clear with a low around 23. North, northeast wind 5 to 7 mph becoming calm in the evening.

Wednesday: Sunny with a high near 50. South wind 5 to 11 mph.

Wednesday night: Clear with a low around 32. South wind 8 to 11 mph.

Thursday: Mostly sunny with a high near 55. South wind 10 to 14 mph with gusts as high as 20 mph.

Thursday night: Partly cloudy with a low around 41.

Friday: Mostly sunny with a high near 58.

Friday night: A 30 percent chance of showers. Mostly cloudy with a low around 47.

Saturday: A 50 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms. Cloudy with a high near 62.

Saturday night: A 40 percent chance of showers. Mostly cloudy with a low around 51.

Sunday: A 30 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms. Mostly cloudy with a high near 65.

Sunday night: A 20 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms. Mostly cloudy with a low around 47.

Monday: Mostly sunny with a high near 53.
