A Harrah woman was jailed after police said she threw an elderly disabled man from his wheelchair.

Bonnie Shirley Davis, 48, was employed as an evening caregiver for Johnny Lynn Gordon in Oklahoma City, in the 6500 block of Saddleback Drive, when the alleged assault took place late Wednesday. Gordon’s brother told police he watched Davis verbally abuse Gordon, telling him to get out of her way, before turning his wheelchair on its side and throwing him to the ground, according to the police report.

Davis is also accused of hitting Gordon with a belt buckle and a can of disinfectant earlier in the day, police said.

Gordon was paralyzed in a car accident and struggled both physically and mentally. When police arrived shortly after 9:15 p.m., he had abrasions on his right forearm and right torso from the fall, police said.

Davis was booked into Oklahoma County jail on assault and battery complaints where she remained Thursday on $4,000 bail.
