James! We can't appoint Mr. Pickens. He is like Bill Self. He has a very good job, but he does love Oklahoma State University. I believe Mr. Holder is a great DA. James, you must drive up there and see what Mr. Holder has done with Mr. Pickens' money.

On the lighter side! There has been talk of Eddie Sutton having his name removed from the court. I truly hope he doesn't, but if OSU starts a true run type offense, Mr Iba may send a band of angels to remove his chair.

Ford seems to be a great hire. Ford is probably one of the very best of the up and coming generation of coaches. He turned around some programs that were in trouble. He has been successful from the NAIA to U. Mass. Those who claim that Ford is not proven need to check his prior success. I believe he can take OSU to the place we alum expect. We all fantasized about Bill Self coming home. Bill Self chose not to come home. Holder was able to get another great "young" coach. He will do well. GO POKES!!!

Why don't you get it over with and appoint Pickens to Grand Poobah of OSU now?

Can we move Fordham and St. Bonaventure from the A-10 to the Big 12 South? We could run those teams into the ground, just like UMass did last year.

OSU beat this season's NCAA champion in a conference game this season. There must be some talent there....OR was it just good coaching? Surely, it was both!

I think he will be able to hold his own with Kansas and Texas. he may not get the biggest names, but that doesn't always win basketball games. It only takes 5 guys (sometimes just 1 can make a big difference) Davidson for instance had a great season. You think they get the best recruiting class every year? WE won't be middle of the pack, bet on that. OSU can play up-tempo. We got speed and talent already. We need a good big man, but we will run with anyone. I seem to remember us beating Washington at home this year. They really had more talent than we did.

Coach Ford plans on playing an up-tempo style at OSU. However, that style only works in the long term when you have overwhelming talent. North Carolina and Florida can play at that pace and win. Currently, OSU cannot. Does coach Ford plan on out-recruiting Kansas and Texas, or will he be content to be a middle of the pack Big 12 team?

How will you sell yourself to your new team? What's the first thing you will tell them?

Yes. Was there something significant intended by virtue of the fact Travis Ford took Sean's place at Kentucky...and is now taking his place at OSU? Is it coincidental or is Mike Holder trying to twist the knife just a bit? Also, why are Travis Ford's record and experience considered to be superior to Sean's by the OSU AD?

Well,I say he does know how to smile at least. That is the one thing that always turned me off about both Suttons,is that they both looked like two bone wary, mad bull dogs.I wouldn't have wanted to play for them,I didn't even like to watch them,Although I like to watch both of our good basket ball teams OSU and OU.Good Luck to the new coach, and his team.Daina and Sharon,Norman

Isn't it a bit unusual that Travis Ford has only head-coaching experience? Typically, a guy will serve some time as an assistant -- for at least a mid-major -- before moving up the coaching ladder. My concern is that the lack of in-depth exposure to varied coaching philsophies and influences leaves him with a rather thin foundation from a strategy and game-planning standpoint. I understand that he has played for two exceptional head coaches in Norm Stewart and Rick Pitino, but that's not the same as being a staff member involved in breaking down film, structuring practices and making in-game decisions. Time will tell, I guess. I certainly wish him the best!

Why would OSU hire a coach that is as unproven as Travis Ford to replace Sean Sutton? I thought they wanted a proven coach. Brad, Alva
