Defense attorneys and prosecutors each said Thursday that they need more time to prepare for the case and the conference hearing was rescheduled for July 11.

Twenty-five-year-old Richard Dellert, 21-year-old Zachary Provence, 24-year-old Kimberly Kirchler Vergara and 33-year-old Lorena Hodges are each charged with kidnapping, maiming and assault and battery in the attack on 18-year-old Stetson Johnson.

Each remains jailed without bond.

Police say the four said they were punishing Johnson after one of the women accused him of trying to have sex with her.

Johnson denies the allegation and police say there is no evidence to support the claim.
