Heat advisories linger in Oklahoma

Most of Oklahoma remains under a heat advisory Thursday. The Tulsa area is under an excessive heat advisory.

Most of Oklahoma remains under a heat advisory Thursday, the National Weather Service reports.

An excessive heat warning has been issued for Tulsa.

An air quality alert remains in effect for the Oklahoma City and Tulsa areas.

Temperatures are expected to cool down slightly by Friday and Saturday with highs below 100 degrees. The temperature in central Oklahoma Thursday is expected to be near 102 degrees.

The Oklahoma City forecast is as follows:

Thursday: Sunny and hot with a high near 102. South wind between 10 and 17 mph with gusts as high as 24 mph.

Thursday night: Clear with a low around 71. South wind between 11 and 17 mph with gusts as high as 24 mph.

Friday: Sunny and hot with a high near 99. South, southwest wind between 11 and 18 mph with gusts as high as 25 mph.

Friday Night: Mostly clear with a low around 71. South wind between 10 and 16 mph with gusts as high as 23 mph.

Saturday: Sunny and hot with a high near 98. South wind between 10 and 17 mph with gusts as high as 24 mph.

Saturday Night: Mostly clear with a low around 71.

Sunday: Sunny and hot with a high near 97.

Sunday Night: Partly cloudy with a low around 72.

Monday: Mostly sunny and hot with a high near 97.

Monday Night: Partly cloudy with a low around 73.

Tuesday: Sunny and hot with a high near 98.

Tuesday Night: Mostly clear with a low around 73.

Independence Day: Sunny with a high near 96.
