Heat advisory covers most of Oklahoma Monday and Tuesday

Temperatures are heating up in Oklahoma. A heat advisory has been issued with temperatures near 100 degrees Monday and Tuesday.

Temperatures will be near 100 degrees in central Oklahoma Monday, the National Weather Service reports.

A heat advisory is in effect from 7 a.m. Monday until 1 a.m. Wednesday. Temperatures will be near 100 degrees Tuesday also, the weather service reports.

The Oklahoma City forecast is as follows:

Monday: Mostly sunny and hot with a high near 100. Heat index values as high as 105. South southwest wind 10 to 14 mph, with gusts as high as 20 mph.

Monday night: Partly cloudy, with a low around 78. South wind 9 to 13 mph.

Tuesday: Mostly sunny and hot with a high near 100. Heat index values as high as 104. South, southwest wind 14 to 18 mph with gusts as high as 25 mph.

Tuesday night: Partly cloudy with a low around 78. South wind 9 to 14 mph with gusts as high as 20 mph.

Wednesday: A 30 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms. Mostly sunny and hot with a high near 97. South wind 7 to 13 mph.

Wednesday night: A 30 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 75.

Thursday: A 30 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms. Partly sunny with a high near 91.

Thursday night: A 20 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 73.

Friday: A 20 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms. Mostly sunny, with a high near 91.
