A heat advisory is effective through Saturday night for central and parts of western Oklahoma, extending from the Oklahoma-Kansas border to the Oklahoma-Texas border. Sunny, dry conditions should continue to produce triple-digit temperatures through the weekend.
Rain chances will remain low, with a slight chance of rain and thunderstorms this afternoon and tonight in parts of southern Oklahoma, according to the National Weather Service. A better chance of rain could come early next week as the remnants of Hurricane Dolly ride all the way around the high pressure ridge to eventually bring rain into the southern plains.
Today's highs should be in the upper 90s in the east to the lower 100s in western Oklahoma.
Thursday night will be partly cloudy with lows in the 70s.
Skies will be mostly sunny on Friday with highs in the 90s and low 100s and lows in the 70s.
