Hot weather has arrived in Oklahoma, the National Weather Service reports.

Temperatures will be near 97 degrees Monday in central Oklahoma.

The Oklahoma City forecast is as follows:

Monday: Mostly sunny and hot with a high near 97. South wind 10 to 16 mph, with gusts as high as 23 mph.

Monday night: Mostly clear with a low around 75. South wind 11 to 15 mph with gusts as high as 21 mph.

Tuesday: A 20 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms after 1 p.m. Mostly sunny and hot with a high near 97. Southwest wind 7 to 15 mph with gusts as high as 21 mph.

Tuesday night: A 30 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms, mainly after 1 a.m. Mostly cloudy with a low around 72. Calm wind becoming northeast 5 to 7 mph in the evening.

Wednesday: A 30 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms mainly after 1 p.m. Partly sunny with a high near 90. East wind 8 to 11 mph.

Wednesday night: A 30 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms, mainly before 1 a.m. Mostly cloudy with a low around 71.

Thursday: A 20 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms before 1 p.m. Partly sunny with a high near 94.
