The heat index may make central Oklahoma temperatures feel like 100 degrees Monday, the National Weather Service reports.

The actual high temperature will be near 96 degrees with wind gusts up to 32 mph. Humidity will make the heat index higher with sunny skies.

The Oklahoma City forecast is as follows:

Monday: Mostly sunny with a high near 96. Heat index values as high as 100. South wind 14 to 23 mph with gusts as high as 32 mph.

Monday night: Partly cloudy with a low around 75. South wind 14 to 20 mph with gusts as high as 28 mph.

Tuesday: A 30 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms mainly after 2 p.m. Mostly sunny with a high near 91. South wind 7 to 11 mph.

Tuesday night: Showers and thunderstorms likely mainly after 8 p.m. Mostly cloudy with a low around 69. North, northeast wind around 6 mph. Chance of precipitation is 70 percent.

Wednesday: Showers and thunderstorms likely mainly before 8 a.m. Mostly cloudy with a high near 85. North, northeast wind 6 to 10 mph. Chance of precipitation is 70 percent.
