The heat index in central Oklahoma Friday will be near 100 degrees, the National Weather Service reports.

The Oklahoma City forecast is as follows:

Friday: Mostly sunny with a high near 96. Heat index values as high as 100. South wind 11 to 18 mph with gusts as high as 25 mph.

Friday night: Partly cloudy with a low around 76. South wind 13 to 17 mph with gusts as high as 24 mph.

Saturday: Mostly sunny and hot with a high near 97. Heat index values as high as 101. South, southwest wind 13 to 17 mph with gusts as high as 24 mph.

Saturday night: Partly cloudy with a low around 75. South, southeast wind 9 to 14 mph with gusts as high as 20 mph.

Sunday: Mostly sunny with a high near 96. South wind 8 to 15 mph with gusts as high as 21 mph.

Sunday night: Partly cloudy with a low around 74.

Monday: Mostly sunny and hot with a high near 98.
