CAUSE TO CELEBRATE
Luncheon: The Junior League of Oklahoma City’s 23rd annual Membership Luncheon was held at the Oklahoma City Golf & Country Club.
Award winning: Sustainer member awards were presented to Jennifer Grigsby, Sustainer of the Year, and Susan Edwards, the Mary Baker Rumsey Award. Hilarie Blaney introduced Grigsby and Jeary Seikel introduced Edwards. Videos were shown about the honorees.
Winner’s choice: Contributions to community projects, chosen by the honorees, were given. They chose the projects: Sunbeam Family Services (for Grigsby) and A Chance to Change (for Edwards).
Luncheon co-chairmen: Sara Crooks and Janie Kinsinger.
Flowers: Tulips, roses and peonies were on the tables.
Anniversary dinner: A dinner was held in the Hall of Mirrors prior to the performance of the Philharmonic Orchestra featuring Yo Yo Ma. The 25th anniversary season of the Oklahoma City Philharmonic has been in honor of the people who established the OC Philharmonic Orchestra: Joel Levine, the late William B. Cleary, Jane B. Harlow, Patrick Alexander, Priscilla Braun, Charles Ellis and Berta Faye Rex.
Chairmen: Jane Harlow was chairman of the anniversary committee. Honorary chairmen were Jose Freede, Mary Nichols, and Jeannette and Dick Sias. Co-chairmen were Debbie McKinney and Glenna Tanebaum.
Guests: Among the people at the dinner were Penny and John McCaleb, LaDonna and Herman Meinders, Debbie and Jeff Minter, Mary Nichols, Polly and Larry Nichols, Lil and Bill Ross, Pam and Bill Shdeed, Sally and Jeff Starling, Donna Vogel, Jan and Gary Allison, Howard K. Tables: Gray satin tablecloths with a band of teal were on the tables, along with Bird of Paradise flower centerpieces. Party favors were note cards with pictures of Philharmonic events.
Brunch: A bridal brunch and luncheon honored Sarah Smith who plans to marry Jesse Rankins this month. The party was in the Regency Room of the Oklahoma City Golf & Country Club. Hostesses were Diana Beeler, Kathy Griffin and Barbara Quillian.
Flowers/food: White, pink, peach and lavender roses in milk glass bowls were centerpieces and the party menu included Mimosas, cranberry spritzers, salad, chicken crepes and lemon tarts topped with blueberries.
Guests: Among the guests were Judi Smith, Inda Burchfiel, Janie Comstock, Alison Taylor, Barbara Dank. Susan Loy, Dena Rankins, Susan Dobson, Barbara Beeler, Paula Belanger and Peck Loy.
Happy hour: A cocktail party honored Rita Dearmon who received the Lee B. Brawner Award at the Library Literary Voices Event on Wednesday. Hosts were Debby and Paul Dudman and Mary and Bill Price in the Dudman home.
The flowers: A silver punch bowl filled with hydrangeas, tulips, roses and calla lilies decorated the table and hors d’oeuvres were served.

Luncheon: Members of the Greater Oklahoma City Panhellenic Association met for the annual Women of the Year luncheon at the Oklahoma City Golf & Country Club.

Program: A slide show presentation on the honorees was shown.
Theme: Theme for the event was “You Take The Cake” with a variety of cakes from Nothing Bundt Cakes for centerpieces.
Door prizes: Kitchen baskets were given as door prizes, and a signed Thunder basketball was auctioned.
