Category winners: Traditions Square East, Gamma Phi Beta, Pi Kappa Phi, campus activities; Sooner Housing Center, Delta Delta Delta, Omega Delta Phi, volunteerism; Walker Center, Pi Beta Phi and Delta Upsilon, multicultural participation; Kappa Alpha Theta and Sigma Phi Epsilon, academics, Trophy runners-up were Sooner Housing Center, Kappa Alpha Theta and Lambda Chi Alpha.

PANHELLENIC RECEPTION

The theme: The theme “Sisters Coast to Coast” was used when members of the Greater Oklahoma City Panhellenic Association had a reception in the home of Seyan and John Hefner. It preceded the Wednesday luncheon where the Panhellenic Women of the Year were presented. Lisa Blackburn is Panhellenic president.

Invitation: The invitations were in the form of airline boarding passes and “Your destination passes to sisterhood.” The nametags were in the shape of a U.S. map with the name of the sorority and the honoree. Suzy Smith designed them both.

The glitz: Shelly Fleet gave each of the 17 honorees a gold medallion.

Arrangements: Alpha Chi Omega Alumni group provided volunteers to help with arrangements for the 65 guests, including the Women of the Year honorees, delegates, alternates and presidents of various member sororities.

GOLDEN CIRCLE LUNCHEON

The occasion: Members of the Delta Delta Delta Golden Circle Club met for lunch at Quail Creek Golf and Country Club. They have been members of the sorority for 50 years.

New members: Donna Murray, Sarah Kelley, Kay Dillon, Kaye Love, Tina Mailer, Diane Pedicord, Ann Strickland and Teta Turner are new members of the group. Jo Fudge is chairman.

Theme: “Adding Our New Stars” was the theme and yellow and purple pansies decorated the tables.

Program: Chapter advisers from the University of Oklahoman and Oklahoma State University gave reports on activities at their respective schools, and artwork from the recent “Art With A Heart” fundraiser was available for purchase.

OKLAHOMA ART LEAGUE GUEST DAY

Guest day: The Oklahoma Art League Day and Past Presidents' Day was held at St. Luke's Methodist Church. Speaker was Martha Goetz, artist and director of the S.R. Brennen Galleries in Santa Fe, N.M.

Chairmen: Linda Barnett, Sharlene Branham, Casey London and Carey Sue Vega were chairmen.

At the event: Suzanne Silvester, Sandy Meyers, Arden Barrett, Jan Smith, Barbara Kerrick, Joan Zubik, Nancy Krodel, Gale Derryberry, Judie Steelman, Jean Burke, Connie Weber, Ann Costello, Kay Smith, Joyce Stewart, Anne McKenny, Sue Francis and Patty Harper were among attendees.

ART OPENING

Reception: Mary Anna Goetz “Landmarks, Great and Small” Oklahoma City and New York City were on exhibit at the recent opening at Howell Gallery. The paintings will be at the gallery until the end of the month.

About the artist: The artist, an Oklahoma City University graduate, is the daughter of Oklahoma artists Richard and Edith Goetz. She has lived in NYC since college, but returns here to paint.
