What/where/why: Business etiquette, professional dress and professionalism were the topics discussed with the 155 members of the University of Oklahoma College of Law's first-year class. The group met for dinner at Devon Energy Center, and McAfee & Taft lawyers were speakers. There was also a networking session for the students. Members of OU's Law Office of Professional and Career Development planned the event. The goal was to prepare OU Law students for the job market.
How: “We created this event as part of our efforts to educate the next generation of lawyers on the critical importance of professionalism,” OU Law Dean Joe Harroz said. “In addition to teaching our students the substantive knowledge required to practice law, we want students to understand the importance of always presenting themselves with the highest degree of integrity and ability in the practice of law. We appreciate McAfee & Taft, who helped make this evening possible.”
Party: Friends who celebrate their birthdays in January met at the Oklahoma City Golf & Country Club for a party.
Hostesses: Hostess duties rotate among the women and this year's hostesses were Liz Coe, Charlotte Cooper, Sugar Dozier, Adelaide Liedtke, Sarah Malloy, Laura Warriner and Stephanie Watts.
