Centerpieces/decorations/ party favors: Theme colors for the party were pink and green. The centerpieces featured pink roses, peppermint-striped mini-carnations and greenery. There was a pink tree decorated with lime green glittered tulle, pink glass heart-shaped ornaments, lights and pink feathers. Pink beaded hearts hung on the wall. Roses were presented to the women as they left, and everyone received a pink organza bag with chocolate candy.

Door prize: Mitchell Clark gave the door prize, a gift certificate from B.C. Clark Jewelers. The store has provided the door prize for 60 years. There were other giveaway prizes as well.

Entertainment: The East Side Boys quartet sang for the group.

SHOWERING AMY

Event: Amy Spielberger, who will be married to Will Rowntree in June, was the honoree at a party in the home of Ginnie Tack. Co-hostesses were Jo Lynne Jones and Becky Taylor and many of the guests were from Infant Crisis Center where she works.

Table: The buffet table was decorated with seashells and orchids since the engaged couple will be married in Mexico.

Gifts: Gift cards were given to the bride-to-be in lieu of gifts since she is moving to California.

Guests: Among the guests were Miki Farris, DiAnne Bryant, Susan Wheeler, Nancy Rowntree and Sharon Boecking.

ANNUAL MILITARY BALL

Occasion: Choctaw High School's Air Force Junior Reserve Officer Training Corps hosted the annual Military Ball recently at the Boren Activity Center. Attendees, including 210 cadets, guests and visitors, walked through a saber arch and were greeted by a receiving line. After the Presentation of the Colors, singing of the national anthem, tributes to the POW/MIA and invocation, dinner was served. Dancing followed.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY DONNA

Occasion: Donna Allen celebrated her 50th birthday with 75 family members and friends at a 1970s-themed party at TapWerks in Bricktown.

Costumes: Guests wore costumes ranging from “Saturday Night Fever” outfits with platform shoes to hippie costumes and wigs.

Music/menu: Music was from the 1970s to present day and on the menu was a Lovebug cake, along with hors d'oeuvres.
