HONORING THE BRIDE
Luncheon: Kelsey Quillian, who married Blake Renegar on July 20, was the honoree at a bridesmaid's luncheon at The Coach House. Hostess was Kathy Griffin.
Guests: Bridesmaids and members of the bridal party, as well as mother of the bride, Barbara Quillian, and mother of the bridegroom, Joan Renegar, were among the guests. Monogrammed tote bags were given to the girls. Party favors from the hostess were compact purse mirrors.
Tables: Bouquets of white orchids and apricot roses decorated the tables and lunch was avocado-cucumber soup, a vegetable tart, chicken salad and cream brulee.
Party: A baby shower honored Alli Eagan in the home of Cindy Crittenden. Alli and husband, Matt Eagan of Dallas, are expecting a baby boy in September. Co-hostesses were Barbara Beeler, Ashley Black, Betty Carroll, Toni Cook, Jane Elliott, Kathy Griffin, Rachael Klos, Leslie Stewart, Carol Taylor, Rene Vasssad and Margo Ward.
Nautical decorations: The invitation stated “Sail Over to Celebrate.” On the table were sailboats, crocheted whales. Guests were asked to write a “message in a bottle” (good wishes or advice for the parents-to-be) for the Eagan family. Napkins said “Oh, Boy!” There was a special clothesline of onesies that decorated the mantel. The centerpiece of red tulips, white roses and blue hydrangeas with sailboats was provided by Alli's grandmother, Marjorie Polk.

Bridal shower: Karen Brown was the honoree at a bridal shower given by Kirsten Cash in her home. Guests were also asked to bring a favorite recipe for the bride-to-be and Farooq Khan. They will be married in August in Arlington, Texas.
Theme: There was a peacock theme coordinating with the wedding color scheme. Decorations included peacock Christmas ornaments.
Menu: The hostess prepared such foods as almond cream-filled strawberries, blueberry salsa, strawberry scones and cranberry-orange pound cake with butter almond sauce.
Game playing: Two games, “Name That Movie (mostly romance movies)” and “How Well Do You Know The Bride” were played by the guests.`

HAPPY BIRTHDAY EXIE
Dinner/birthday party: Exie Ida Coldiron was honored at a 100th birthday party that featured dinner and dancing at the Skirvin Hilton Ballroom. Son Arnold Coldiron from Aurora, Ohio, was host and daughter Ladona Sheets was co-hostess. 180 guests came to the party, including 50 family members. Exie was born in Oklahoma and she and her husband, the late Charles Coldiron, had seven children. They are Donald Charles, Arnold Lloyd, Dwight Malcolm (Connie), Ladona Ann (Sheets), Phil Carson, Mark Dale and Brent Douglas Coldiron. She also has 18 grandchildren, 34 great-grandchildren and three great-great grandchildren.
Best dressed: The honoree wore a pale turquoise, beaded lace dress with lots of sparkles designed by Jonathan Kayne.
Band/entertainment: The Glenn Miller Orchestra played for dancing. Special guest was a John Wayne impersonator.
Open house: There was an open house held at The Center of Healthy Aging, 1122 NE 13, on the University of Oklahoma Health Sciences Center campus. The center collaborates with the Senior Health Clinic.
Program: Tours of the facilities were given by physicians and staff members and Willa Johnson gave opening remarks. Maggie Darcey is the education director.
