Engaged: When Martin Howell proposed marriage to Amanda Priest in the home of his dad, Dr. Joe Howell, his longtime friends Genevieve and Brendon Quick and Laura Dillard arranged for a surprise engagement dinner for the two of them at 7 p.m. She accepted his proposal, and after dinner other guests, including lifelong Casady School and University of Oklahoma friends, arrived at 9 p.m. for a congratulatory party.

CELEBRATING ST. PAT'S
Dance: Members of the Registry Inc., a group of single women and men, all over the age of 40 and college graduates, met at the Oklahoma City Golf and Country Club for a dance. There were 88 members there for the black-tie event. Theme was “Smiling Irish Eyes.”
Decorations: Green velvet shamrocks were on the tables set with mirrors, along with glittery green vases filled with green and white carnations, surrounded by glowing votive candles. Howard Vincent is president of the group, and Angie Harrison is decorations chairman.
Music: Hart and Soul Band played for dancing.
MOTHER/DAUGHTER HAT STYLING EVENT
What/where: A mother/ daughter hat styling workshop was held at JRB Art at the Elms.
Who: Marla Deann Cook and Lydia Sullivan, both milliners, were on hand to assist guests in designing their Easter bonnets. Hat bases and trims, peacock, ostrich and pheasant feathers, beads, silk flowers, ribbons and bows, were available at the workshop.
Why: Joy Reed Belt set up the Millinery Shop in one of her galleries in conjunction with the Rosemary Burke art exhibit.
