CLASSEN CLASS OF 1948
Brunch: Bill Lockard was host for a brunch for the 65-year reunion of Classen High School. A banner in the front yard welcomed the graduates, and 70 class members attended. School colors of blue and gold were used in the decorations as well as the school comet symbol.
The night before: On the first night of the reunion, the group had dinner at Quail Creek Golf and Country Club where entertainment featured Jane Hall and Virginia Campbell.
Committee: Reunion committee members were Jim Cole, class president; Jim Gonders, event chairman; Joann Lawrence, treasurer; Sue Gabe, calling committee, and Cecilia Cole, brunch chairman.
Open house: deadCENTER Film Festival staff members have moved offices to 726 W Sheridan on Film Row in the Hart Building. An open house was held to celebrate the move.
Luncheon: Two University of Oklahoma College of Law alumni serving and making history on Oklahoma's highest courts were honored at a luncheon at Devon Tower. Tom Colbert was sworn in Jan. 4 as the first African-American chief justice of the Oklahoma Supreme Court. On Jan. 23, David B. Lewis was sworn in as the first African-American presiding judge of the Oklahoma Court of Criminal Appeals.
BACKSTAGE IN NEW YORK
What: Tina and Tim Ridley were backstage at the John Golden Theater with actor David Hyde Pierce following the preview performance of his latest Broadway hit “Vanya and Sonia and Masha and Spike.” The comedy co-stars Sigourney Weaver.
