Event: Ann Felton Gilliland and Robin Marsh were co-hosts for the Central Oklahoma Habitat for Humanity 19th annual Volunteer Recognition dinner at the National Cowboy & Western Heritage Museum. It was also the group's 25th anniversary and celebration of the 700th house to be built.
People: 600 people attended the event and there were three large video screens for video presentations. This was an event to recognize all volunteers and to recognize people in various categories of volunteers.
Entertainment: Marty Summer and Glenn Sulley from the Oklahoma Rodeo Opry performed.
Honored: Jim McKay was awarded the Inspirations Award. Also honored were Aaron Bastian, CEO of Oklahoma Fidelity Bank and his staff from Wichita, Kan. BP Petroleum was the underwriter and sponsors were Hall Estill and the Aldridge Foundation.
ORDER OF THE OWL
Dinner: Five lawyers were inducted into the Order of the Owl Hall of Fame at a dinner. The event, in the Molly Shi Boren Ballroom of the Oklahoma Memorial Union, honored University of Oklahoma College of Law graduates for outstanding accomplishments in their legal careers.
Honorees: The Hon. Thomas R. Brett, James T. Comfort, William T. Comfort Jr., J. Hugh Roff Jr. and the late Alma Bell Wilson.
On the program: Law school Dean Joseph Harroz Jr. and OU President David L. Boren were speakers.
OU Chant: Corie White and the OU Law Class of 2015 led the crowd in the OU Chant.
Table manners: The menu and decor had a Mediterranean theme. Tables featured gold tablecloths and purple napkins. Flower centerpieces included plants, purple kale, curly willow, purple mist and flax leaves.

Party: Ann Alspaugh and Jim Vallion honored Dr. Ron White at a cocktail party in the Alspaugh home.
Take a bow: People at the party congratulated the well-deserving honoree for his upcoming induction in The Oklahoma Hall of Fame.
Decor: For decorations, Halloween pumpkins were in place, along with colorful, talking Halloween characters.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY RUTH
Who/what/where: Ruth Frazier celebrated her 90th birthday with a party in the Vintage Room of the Oklahoma City Golf and Country Club. Hosts were her children Kirk Hammons, John Frazier and Bill Frazier and their spouses, Royce Hammons, Kim Frazier and Mirna Frazier.
Who else: Among the guests were Jay Frazier, her husband of 66 years, her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Entertainment: Kip Curtis played the piano, including the Fraziers' favorite songs.
Taking the stage: Jason Hammons gave the toast for the honoree and toasted all of her children and their families individually.
Gift: A hand-painted Limoges box in the shape of a cake with her monogram was the honoree's gift.
LEADERSHIP OKLAHOMA CONFERENCE DINNER
Occasion: At the dinner for the annual Leadership Oklahoma fall conference, the Distinguished Leader Award was given to Michelle Finch-Walker. There was also a live auction for LOK members and guests.
The conference: The event was held at the Devon Energy Tower and this year's forum featured Bill Bishop, author of “The Big Sort: Why the Clustering of Like-Minded America is Tearing Us Apart.”
Party: The opening reception for the book “Satan Like Spam” by Nicole Garber was held recently at An Art Space For Emerging Artists in Norman. It is the second novel in a series.
Also: Cover artist Abby Stiglets showed paintings, sketches and prints and the book trailer for the book, which was filmed by Choate House.
What: Anita and Mike Nash, in vampire costumes, celebrated their 10th annual Halloween Nash Bash with about 200 friends in their southeast Edmond home decked out for the holiday.
Of note: As guests walked up their driveway to the party, they were greeted with a giant pumpkin and a cemetery filled with handmade gravestones depicting the Nash family (“Here lies the ashes of all the Nashes,” reads one) and previous costume contest winners.
Winners: Dressed as an '80s prom couple, Michael and Janna Leach won two round-trip airplane tickets for best overall costume and the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society, for which the Nash Bash received more than $1,070 in donations.
