CELEBRATION!

Party: Close friends and family members of Angela Ferguson gathered at a party to celebrate her recent marriage. Marilyn Balyeat and Mindy Brown were hostesses in the Brown home. Angela and Brian Ferguson were married Oct. 25 in a small private ceremony.

Flowers/food: Bouquets of tulips, orchids, hydrangeas and roses arranged by the hostess decorated the home and all varieties of canapes were served.

Seen: Sarah Brown, Lori Payne, Kathy Brown, Barbara Kerrick, Jeanne Blair, Kay Oliver, Nancy Ellis, Lynn White, Bebe MacKellar, Fanny Bolen, Kim O'Connor, Sarah Geiger, Paula Nayfa, Kathy Funston, Carrie Katigan, Kirk Hammons, Janie Comstock, Elaine Price, Megan Brigham, Kristen Bohanon, Kim Bohanon, Denise Parsons and Susan Silver were among those at the party.

HONORING KATIE

Baby shower: Katie Eidson Griffin was the honoree at a baby shower at the Oklahoma City Golf & Country Club. Hostesses were Candy Ainsworth, Barbara Beeler, Terry Bradley, Linda Howell, Linda Klos, Marty Margo, Barbara Quillian, Jann Schwabe, Carol Solomon, Alison Taylor and Jane White.

The baby: Joy Gwin is due to be born in January to Katie and husband Jay Griffin. Baby gifts were tied with lots of pink ribbons.

Flowers: Roses and magnolia leaves decorated the tables, and food included chicken on skewers, fried green beans, dips and veggies and iced cookies shaped like bears, baby booties, bottles and bibs.

Guests: Kathy Griffin, Linda Klos, Susan Dobson, Susan Hoffman, Karen Luke, Linda James, Karlie Harmon, Ginger Shaw, Sally Lamprich, Becky Buchanan, Bette MacKellar, Jayne Henline, Lela Sullivan, Janie Axton, Donna Cason and Diana Beeler were at the event.

BLACK AND WHITE BALL

Dance: The Registry of Oklahoma City board members were hosts for a formal Black and White Ball at the Oklahoma City Golf & Country Club. The Registry is a social dinner dance group for unmarried professionals over 40 years of age.

Tables/band: Tables held tall crystal vases filled with clusters of white roses and black and white ribbons set on mirrors surrounded by glowing votive candles. The Rice Dance Band played for dancing.

Officers: On the Registry board are Howard Vincent, president; Joyce Owen, secretary; Trudy Cole, treasurer; Sam Townley, parliamentarian; Karan Allbright, fine arts chairman, and Georgiana Baxter, James Stapp, Leslie Hobson and Steve Untrauer, directors. Also attending were Charles Whipple, founder, Angie Harrison, decorations chairman, and Ruth Ann Pierson, executive secretary.

A little history: The organization was started in 1981 as a social group for single adults and it has monthly dinner dances at various country club locations. The group sponsors fundraisers for the Oklahoma City arts, charitable and cultural community.

Luncheon: Members of the Col. John Starke Sr. chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution met at the Oklahoma City Golf and Country Club to hear the program “Women In The Revolution-Part II.” Orriene Denslow was speaker. Jerrie Brauer and Dina Deupree were hostesses. Beverly Sherman is song leader.
