Event: Members of the Greater Oklahoma City Alumnae Panhellenic Chapter had the Spring Tea at All Souls Episcopal Church. This event was for high school senior girls and their parents who are interested in learning more about formal sorority recruitment.
Fashion show: Fashions for recruitment were shown to 220 attendees.
Q&A: Sorority representatives from the University of Oklahoma, Oklahoma State University, University of Central Oklahoma and Oklahoma City University answered questions on how to register for recruitment and what to expect during the week. There was also a slideshow and a question-and-answer session. Small group sessions were provided for different colleges, including those from out of state.
BON VOYAGE
Reception: The 2013 Eleanor Kirkpatrick Franco-American Fellows were honored at a reception in the home of Barbara and Ralph Thompson. Members of the Alliance Francaise d'Oklahoma City were co-hosts. The students will attend a two-week research study program during March at the Lycee Leonardo da Vinci in Soissons, France.
Fellows: In the group are Adrienne Coyle, Oklahoma School of Science and Mathematics; Dylan Cunningham, Ada High School; Sierra Holling, Mustang High School; Lorena Serrano, Edmond Santa Fe High School; Kelly Woods, Westmoore High School; and Jassie Zaidi, Piedmont High School. Kris Earle, French and Spanish teacher at Ada High School, will accompany them. Each student received a scholarship from the Kirkpatrick Family Fund, donations from members of the Alliance Francaise of Oklahoma City and the VOW members of Oklahoma City.
GEORGE WASHINGTON LUNCHEON
Luncheon: The annual George Washington Luncheon, sponsored by the Oklahoma City Regents Council, National Society Daughters of the American Revolution, was held at Oklahoma Christian University Gaylord Center.
Theme: Table decorations were themed “Our Founding Fathers and Mothers.”
Speaker: The speaker was Stephen Smith, who portrayed Ben Franklin.
MUSEUM EXHIBITION
Event: 75 guests had cocktails and hors d'oeuvres provided by Red Earth board member Beth Barnes Hall at the new Red Earth Museum exhibition called “Generations.”
Hosts: Hosts were members of Red Earth and the Oklahoma City Chapter of the American Indian Chamber of Commerce of Oklahoma.
Guests: Vickie Norick, Janet and David Dyke, Debby and Jimmy Goodman, Kennetha and Brent Greenwood, Anivay Greenwood, Tim Tate, Calvert Tate and Susan and Richard Howard, Rachel Howard.
