Sooner barbecue: John R. McKee was host of a “Sooner Barbecue” in Santa Fe, N.M., July 4. The 65 guests were members of the University of Oklahoma Alumni Club of Santa Fe which is made up of alumni who have permanent or vacation homes in Santa Fe. There were also some alumni members vacationing in the area.

SEND-OFF PARTY

Who/why: A party honored David Hill Jr., son of Shannon Hill and David Hill Sr., prior to his departure for the U.S. Military Academy at West Point. He reported July 2 for seven weeks of cadet basic training before the start of the academic year.

Where and who else: The party was in the Hill home, and there were 120 guests.

Event: Linda and Ken Howell and Randel Shadid were hosts for an opening reception for 22 works by Kenny McKenna, painter of western landscapes.
