ALLIANCE DANCE CLUB
Who/what/where: Members of the Alliance Dance Club met for the Fall Fantasy Dance at Quail Creek Golf and Country Club. Music was by Steve Crossley.
Why: The local dance club has 200 members. The members, mostly singles, with some club married members, are 40 years old and older.
How: James Stapp is president of the group. Other officers are Liz Bishop, vice president; Anne Pixler, membership; Carol Cooley, treasurer; Jeanine Bickerstaff, social; Dixie Stewart, secretary; Marie Roberson, publicity; Sharon Hopkins, decorations; Tim Hawks, member-at-large, and Fred and Marilyn Ayers, married liaisons. Dinner dances, both formal and informal, are being held this year at Quail Creek Golf and Country Club, Twin Hills Golf and Country Club, the Jim Thorpe Hall of Fame and the Skirvin Hilton Hotel. Next dance is Dec. 8 at the Skirvin with the Burton Boys Band.
GOLDEN CIRCLE ALUMNAE
Luncheon: The fall luncheon for members of Tri Delta Alumnae's Golden Circle Club was held at Quail Creek Golf and Country Club. Hostesses were new officers of the group: Sonja Pellow, chairman; Nancy Stoll, secretary; and Helen Duckett, treasurer.
Speakers: Alumnae advisers from the University of Oklahoma and Oklahoma State University talked about the activities, awards and calendars of their respective chapter houses.
Decorations: Leaves were scattered on the tables among decorative pumpkins and candles.
Seen: Bev Carter, Ann Crandall, Shirley Michael, Joy Richardson, Jackie Acers and Sidney Greathouse were among the people at the luncheon.
Event: Casady School's Distinguished Graduate honoree Hunt Lowry spoke to members of the Casady Club at The Coach House. The event was held during the school's homecoming activities.
About the speaker: Lowry, a 1973 graduate, spoke about his time in the film industry. He is CEO/president of Roserock Films, located on the Warner Brothers lot in Burbank, Calif. He received the Oklahoma Film Icon award from the deadCenter Film Festival in June.
Party: Paula Burger, fiancee of Matt Cagigal, was honoree at a luncheon and wedding shower. Beverly Chansolme was hostess and assisting her were Harolyn Enis, Astrea Fatica, Katherine Milam, Mary True Neumann, Lil Ross, Melanie Roth and Gayle Semtner.
Flowers/food: Crystal vases held alstroemeria lilies, gold mums and peach-colored roses. On the menu were chicken crepes, salad and carrot cake miniature muffins.
Guests: At the party were Anita Milam, Stacey Naifeh, Mary Ellen Meredith, Susan Bernardy, Katie Treadwell, Lauren Chastain and Nancy Burger.
ART OPENING RECEPTION
Occasion: A reception was held at the Howell Gallery for the art exhibit opening for Dennis Johnson, Suzanne Mears, Andre Tutak, Marko Kratovil, David Branch and Bennett Berry. It was themed “A Study of Color and Form.” The show will be in place until Saturday.
Guests: Lida and Ron Elkins, Sally Bentley, Kay and Gates Oliver, Nancy and Joe Bradley, Barbara and Bud Beeler, Karlie and Harvey Harmon, Rita and Al Dearmon, Vonda and Mike Henderson, Jane and David Thompson and Anne and Dick Workman.
WOMEN'S DAY PROGRAM
Dinner: Missy Robertson from A&E's “Duck Dynasty” was a featured guest during Oklahoma Christian University's annual Women's Day program lectureship. She was the keynote speaker for “She Speaks: A Dinner with Missy Robertson.” Eight hundred people attended the soldout event.
