Hemispheres, a Hobby Lobby affiliate offering home furnishings, plans to build a new store just northeast of Quail Springs Mall.
The store is expected to open in late October, according to Hemispheres President Malora Spurlock.
Hemispheres will be building a 50,000 square-foot retail space that will replace its location on Northwest Expressway in Oklahoma City, Spurlock said.
Employees at the current location will move to the new location, which also will offer opportunities for new hires.
The store sells mainly home furnishings and accessories, including bedroom, dining and home office pieces in addition to living room and outdoor furniture.
Prices range from high to low end depending on the item, Spurlock said. All other Hemispheres locations are in Texas, including Allen, Arlington, Cedar Park, Frisco and Lewisville.
Spurlock said the company doesn't have plans to open any additional stores in the Oklahoma City area.
The property is being developed by Rosebriar Corp., a real estate investment company that also owns Quail Springs Mall and other nearby spaces.
The remaining 50,000 square-foot availability on the development is not filled, and could be combined to create one large retail store. Rosebriar President Adam Sumrall said a sporting goods or electronic store would be fitting to fill the space.
Total development cost will be near $20 million for Rosebriar, Sumrall said. Hemispheres did not disclose development costs.
Rosebriar has additional undeveloped land near the Quail Springs location, but no immediate plans for development.
