LOUISVILLE, Ky. (AP) — A massive new video screen being constructed at Churchill Downs will utilize an advanced ultra-high definition technology.
The company says in a release that the 90-foot-tall board will be the world's largest outdoor screen to use 4K technology.
The announcement was made by Panasonic and Churchill Downs Racetrack on Monday in advance of the 2014 International Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas.
The $12 million board will be 171 feet wide and sit 80 feet above the ground.
Preliminary construction began in December and installation is scheduled to be completed by March.
