High fire danger continues in Oklahoma Monday

A red flag warning has been issued in southwest Oklahoma for high fire danger Monday. The warning is for noon to 6 p.m. Monday.

A red flag warning for high fire danger has been issued for eight southwest Oklahoma counties Monday, the National Weather Service reports.

Counties in the watch from noon to 6 p.m. Monday are Beckham, Harmon, Greer, Kiowa, Jackson, Tillman, Comanche and Cotton. Winds may gust up to 25 mph with temperatures near 70 degrees.

The Oklahoma City area forecast is as follows:

M.L. King Jr. Day: Sunny with a high near 62. Light and variable wind becoming north 19 to 24 mph in the morning. Winds could gust as high as 33 mph.

Monday night: Clear with a low around 28. North wind 16 to 21 mph with gusts as high as 29 mph.

Tuesday: Sunny with a high near 41. North wind 7 to 16 mph becoming south in the afternoon. Winds could gust as high as 23 mph.

Tuesday Night: Mostly clear with a low around 28. South wind 6 to 11 mph.

Wednesday: Sunny with a high near 54.

Wednesday night: Mostly clear with a low around 25.

Thursday: Mostly sunny with a high near 32.

Thursday night: Partly cloudy with a low around 20.

Friday: Partly sunny with a high near 37.

Friday night: Partly cloudy with a low around 27.

Saturday: Sunny with a high near 53.

Saturday night: Mostly clear with a low around 33.

Sunday: Sunny with a high near 59.
