High school basketball: Edmond Memorial's Shaquille Morris named The Oklahoman's Big All-City Player of the Year

As he prepares to watch his future team play in the NCAA Final Four on Saturday, Wichita State signee Shaquille Morris of Edmond Memorial was announced as The Oklahoman's Boys Basketball Big All-City Player of the Year on Thursday.

Morris, a 6-foot-7 power forward, averaged nearly 18 points and nine rebounds in helping Edmond Memorial win the Class 6A state championship for the second time in three years.

In the online voting for the Fans' Choice Big All-City Player of the Year, Southeast forward Rashawn Thomas came out on top with 295 of the 828 votes.

Morris was second with 241 votes and Edmond North's Carlbe Ervin was third with 133. Noble's Leland Palmer received the most write-in votes.
