— Fox traditionally has been a football program that prides itself on its ability to run the football, but the Foxes are showing this season they can be a threat through the air, too.

Quarterback Taylor Townsend completed 12-of-22 passes for 229 yards and five touchdowns — three to Keaton Argo — on Friday night as Fox, ranked No. 4 in Class B, rolled to a 48-24 win over Oklahoma Christian Academy at OCA Eagle Field.

Fox (9-0, 8-0 in District B-2) clinched a district title and two home playoff games, should the Foxes advance in the postseason.

“We're a totally different team than we've been in years past,” Fox coach Brent Phelps said. “We don't have the big, strong running backs that we've had. A 7-yard touchdown run by quarterback Adam Jacob and a subsequent two-point conversion put OCA (4-5, 4-4) ahead 8-6 with 5:38 left in the first half, but then the wheels fell off for the Eagles.
