High school football playoff preview: A look at the first round's biggest story lines

Here's a quick look at some of the biggest story lines in the first round of the high school football playoffs, including the main attraction: Playoff Edlam, featuring Edmond North and Edmond Memorial.

*Thomas (9-1): The fifth-ranked Terriers have been impressive, especially on defense, most of the season, but drew a scary matchup against an incredibly talented Texhoma team that just hasn't put it all together yet. If the Red Devils are able to hit the switch for the postseason, it could be bad news for Thomas.

Names to know

Three players to watch in crucial first-round matchups:

*Dahu Green, Westmoore: Physically daunting and athletically gifted, the 6-foot-3, 185-pound receiver is a big play waiting to happen. Green had Westmoore's only TD, an 81-yarder, in a 20-10 loss to Broken Arrow last week, and he'll be looked to for more big plays on the road against a tough Sand Springs secondary Friday.

*Kyle Duke, Bethany: Tuttle was ranked in the top 10 much of the season, so despite the fact that Bethany is the host team against the Tigers, Bethany might be playing an underdog role. QB Kyle Duke sparked the Bronchos' upset of Cushing last week and will be the focal point of the Tuttle defense.

*Chandler Garrett, Mustang: Garrett's emergence at quarterback has strengthened the move of Frankie Edwards from QB to running back. As dangerous as Edwards is with the ball, the added dimension of the sophomore Garrett as a pass-or-run threat opens up the offense and will be vital if the Broncos hope to go on the road and upset Norman North.
