Kai Callins and Idea Alexander each ran for more than 100 yards Friday night, and No. 2-ranked Guthrie whipped Western Heights 59-6 in a District 5A-2 game at Jelsma Stadium.
Callins collected 124 yards, including 18- and 29-yard touchdown runs. He also caught a 20-yard TD pass from Reed Roberts to help the Bluejays charge to a 38-0 lead by halftime. Alexander added 105 yards with TD runs of 8, 10 and 3 yards. Guthrie, which rolled up 412 yards of offense, improved to 5-0 overall and 2-0 in district.
The Guthrie defense was stellar, holding the Jets (0-5, 0-2) to 67 total yards and four first downs. The Bluejays forced four turnovers, including three interceptions.
Guthrie next plays Friday at top-ranked Carl Albert, which improved to 2-0 in district with its 35-21 victory over No. 10-ranked Bishop McGuinness.
NAULT REACHES MILESTONE
Kingfisher running back Landon Nault scored his 100th career touchdown Friday night, leading Class 3A's No. 2-ranked Kingfisher to a 44-0 rout of Star Spencer. Nault finished the game with 154 yards and three touchdowns on 16 carries. He had TD runs of 35, 56 and 15 yards to help the Yellowjackets move to 5-0 overall and 2-0 in District 3A-3.
Kingfisher's defense held Star (1-4, 0-2) to 65 total yards. The Yellowjackets forced five turnovers, including four interceptions.
TIGERS WIN, INTERCEPT 6 PASSES
Crescent's defense intercepted six passes and returned three for touchdowns, and the Tigers rolled past Crossings Christian, 49-14.
Tristan Lacey (32 yards), Garrett Dimmitt (3 yards) and Devon Bledsoe (73 yards) returned interceptions for TDs as the Tigers moved to 4-1. Lacey had an 8-yard touchdown catch in the first quarter and added seven point-after-TD kicks. Crescent's Michael Cronister collected 119 yards and two touchdowns by rush; he also caught three passes for 37 yards and a TD.
RACERS BEAT CENTENNIAL
Zack Berge had a pair of 1-yard touchdown runs as Newcastle beat Centennial 33-14 at Racer Field. Regan Ross accounted for nine points with 31- and 24-yard field goals and three point-after-touchdown kicks.
DEER CREEK HAMMERS EL RENO
Class 5A's No. 6-ranked Deer Creek snapped a two-game skid in a big way Friday night in Edmond. Alec James scored four touchdowns, including two on defense, as the Antlers routed El Reno, 70-0.
James returned fumbles 42 and 21 yards for touchdowns, which were part of Deer Creek's 42-point onslaught in the second half. He added 29- and 39-yard TDs from his running back position.
Quarterback Caden Sander ran for 113 yards and three touchdowns. He added a 28-yard scoring pass to Cole Verble that gave the Antlers (3-2 overall, 1-1 District 5A-2) an early 7-0 lead.
HENNESSEY TRIMS CHISHOLM
Hennessey quarterback Tony Mendoza scored from a yard out with 3:58 left in the game, and William Arndt added the two-point conversion run as the Eagles clipped Chisholm, 21-20.
