High school football: Tuttle board to hold special meeting regarding Philip Koons' resignation

The Tuttle board of education will hold a special meeting at 6 p.m. Friday to discuss the resignation of football coach Philip Koons.

The Tuttle board of education will hold a special meeting at 6 p.m. Friday to discuss the resignation of football coach Philip Koons.

Koons handed in his resignation Monday after 21 years at the school.

The agenda calls for the board to enter into executive session to discuss the “employment/reassignment/discipline or receiving resignation of personnel,” with Koons listed as the only item for discussion.

Koons won 205 games and two state championships during his time at Tuttle.
